Press Release: Greg Pruett Re-acquires Idaho Dispatch

By • August 1, 2024

The following press release is from the Idaho Dispatch staff.

Rigby, Idaho – August 1, 2024

The Idaho Dispatch has been re-acquired by Greg Pruett, who started the Idaho Dispatch in June 2020.

Pruett ran the Idaho Dispatch until September 2022, when Miste Karlfeldt took over. After keeping the Dispatch running for several years, Karlfeldt is handing the company back to Pruett.

Pruett said about requiring the Dispatch:

“I am so grateful that Miste has kept the Idaho Dispatch running for several years. During my time away, I always missed writing articles that were as unbiased as possible and breaking stories before the mainstream media.

Idahoans want their news to tell all sides of a story, and they are growing weary of their legacy news outlets in Idaho continually attacking people of a certain political belief system rather than just giving facts of a story and letting readers/viewers decide for themselves what they want to believe.

I’ll make an extra effort to bring Idahoans even more content and hopefully hire more reporters in the future to help cover political stories from across the state.”

Karlfeldt will focus more on her organization, Health Freedom Idaho, now that the transfer of the Idaho Dispatch back to Pruett is complete. She said of her time running the Idaho Dispatch,

“I have greatly enjoyed owning the Idaho Dispatch. We had a fabulous team (Sarah Clendenon and David Pettinger) bringing interesting content to our viewers and readers. Researching and reporting on everything from who owns Idaho news to important information about Idaho water and dams was invigorating because we knew how important it was to document what is taking place in Idaho.

When Greg approached me about buying back the Idaho Dispatch, I hesitated because I have enjoyed it so much. As I pondered the idea, I realized the time I would have to devote to my other projects like Health Freedom Idaho and Miste4Liberty. Of course, my children are excited to have me back for our traditional Sunday dinner as I had been buried in my computer for the last two years preparing for our Monday morning article on Sunday nights. I’m excited to give more time to my other projects and family while Greg takes the Idaho Dispatch to new heights.

This is another great transition for the Idaho Dispatch. I’m happy to see it go back to the man who brought it to life. We are blessed to have true, unbiased news in Idaho, as it is the documentation of our history. I encourage you to continue supporting this important work.”

  1. You’re both awesome. Thank you, Miste, for taking care of the Dispatch when it was too much for Greg. Thank you, Greg, for returning to run it.
