Idaho Dispatch Launches “The Rest,” A Fact-Checking Project
By Idaho Dispatch Staff • August 19, 2024Idaho Dispatch is happy to announce a new fact-check project for Idahoans called “The Rest.”
Unlike most fact-checking programs you might see with the mainstream media, the idea behind The Rest (inspired by Paul Harvey’s ‘The Rest of the Story’ segments) is that we will take a claim, provide all evidence we can find, give the rest of the story, and not try to label the “fact-check.”
In political news, there often isn’t a black-and-white answer to whether something is “true,” “false,” “misleading,” or any other label used by the mainstream media.
With The Rest, you will get what we have always tried to do: facts and evidence without personal bias to the best of our ability!
For a current list of fact-checks we have completed, go to idahodispatch.com/factcheck. Additionally, if you have a suggested fact-check for us, there is a form at that link that you can use to submit your fact-check request.
We may not be able to get to every submitted fact-check, but we will try to get to as many as possible.
Finally, please consider helping us expand our efforts to cover news across Idaho by becoming a supporter at idahodispatch.com/support today!

I’m very curious…now that “The Rest” has been launched, what will become of “The D.C. Beat?” No new articles for some time now…:-(
