The F.B.I. and the Idaho Dispatch

By • December 8, 2021

Several people have inquired about a rumor that F.B.I. agents had visited my home.

I can confirm that two agents did indeed visit my home recently. The agents were inquiring about the Boise Towne Square Mall shooting.

I believe this was a result of our live stream coverage on Fry Street, which was where the home of the suspect, Jacob Bergquist, had lived. At the time, it was not publicly known that the Fry Street location was Bergquists’ place of residence. Still, Idaho Dispatch had received a tip from a reliable source who had disclosed to us that numerous police officers and federal agents had swarmed an area where he lived several hours after the shooting ended.

The individual had given Idaho Dispatch enough details that we felt confident the Fry Street location where Bergquist lived. So we did the live stream, which you can see here for reference (story continues below).

Shortly after Idaho Dispatch aired the video from Fry Street, police confirmed they had searched a trailer home in the area. The location was ultimately proven to be that of Bergquist.

When the F.B.I. agents came to my home, they were following up on some leads and were told that I may be of some assistance to them. I told them I could not disclose my source, and one of the agents said they were not requesting to know the source, but I did tell them I would ask my source if they were willing to talk to the F.B.I. about the case.

The Idaho Dispatch source said they had been in touch with law enforcement previously and that they were willing to talk to the F.B.I. if needed.

That was the context of the F.B.I. visit to my home last week. If you have any additional questions please feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you,
