The Bonneville Republican Central Committee has brought in some well-known speakers over the last few years.
Previous speakers include such names as Dinesh D’Souza and David Barton. Last year, the group brought in Candace Owens and held the event at Melaleuca Field due to a large number of expected attendees.
This year, the group is bringing in James O’Keefe from Project Veritas.
O’Keefe and his organization do undercover journalism and often have individuals inside companies like Hasbro, CNN, and Facebook come forward with information that Project Veritas then releases to the public.
O’Keefe has also focused on alleged election fraud in recent videos dating back to the November 2020 election. In addition, at least one individual was arrested after an undercover journalist with Project Veritas admitted several ways she cheats or tells others to cheat the election system.
Critics have said that O’Keefe deceptively edits videos. O’Keefe responds via his YouTube channel that he has not deceptively edited his videos and that Project Veritas can support all of their claims with evidence.
Idaho Dispatch reached out to Mark Fuller, the Bonneville Republican Central Committee Chairman, and asked why they decide on O’Keefe as their speaker this year. Here is what Fuller told Idaho Dispatch:
Our July 31 event will be the largest Republican event in Idaho during 2021. We are excited to have James O’Keefe teach us about his investigations and the progressive corruption he has uncovered. This will be a night to remember and we will have a fireworks finale.
An additional speaker at the event will be Nate Silvester, known for his Tik Tok video mocking Lebron James. Silvester has since been fired from his job and is reportedly working on a book.
Idaho Dispatch is told that some seats are still available to the O’Keefe event and can be purchased here.
