Press Release: Raúl Labrador Enters 2022 Race for Idaho Attorney GeneralBy Press Release • November 18, 2021
The following Press Release was sent out by Raul Labrador, a candidate for Attorney General. Note: Press Releases sent out by candidates do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of those at the Idaho Dispatch.
Labrador will defend Idaho’s sovereignty, protect the individual rights of Idaho’s citizens, fight back against the Biden Administration’s destructive policies, and ensure conservative legislators have a true partner in the Attorney General’s office
Boise, ID – Proven conservative leader and former Congressman Raúl Labrador is announcing today that he will enter the 2022 race for Idaho Attorney General.Advertisement
“Right now the great battles for the soul of our nation are taking place in our courthouses. The Biden Administration is pushing an unlawful agenda that interferes with the sovereignty of the State of Idaho and the freedoms, liberties, and economic future of Idahoans. As Attorney General, I will defend our liberties and hold the Biden Administration accountable. We need an Attorney General who has the knowledge, experience and strength to help lead these efforts,” said Labrador.
“The U.S. and Idaho Constitutions give us the authority to challenge and stop ongoing Biden Administration overreach. The 10th Amendment gives the people of Idaho explicit powers that Idaho’s Attorney General can exercise. As a former Member of Congress, I have seen 10th Amendment Constitutional battles up close. Conservative Attorneys General throughout the United States are taking the lead on cases against the radical Left. Too often, Idaho has been standing on the sidelines, refusing in some cases to engage in these fights. As Idaho’s Attorney General, I will stand up and fight,” said Labrador.
“I will also be a true partner with conservative lawmakers in the Legislature as they work to draft and write good laws that will stand up against the gamesmanship of activist judges. It is critical that we have a new Attorney General who can work with the Legislature to craft legislation to withstand judicial tests and protect Idaho’s sovereignty,” said Labrador.Advertisement
“I will also maintain law and order in our communities, protect Idahoans’ religious freedom, ensure election integrity, and help enable parents to freely exercise their right to direct their children’s education without fear of federal retaliation.”
In Congress, Raúl Labrador fought to protect Idaho’s citizens. He pushed an immigration enforcement bill that would have added more than 10,0000 additional armed federal immigration officers, penalized sanctuary cities, allowed local police to assist in federal immigration enforcement, and imposed new criminal penalties for immigration violators.
Labrador also supported legislation targeting gang members, and backed federal constitutional carry provisions and legislation to protect our 2nd Amendment rights. Labrador promoted efforts to get justice for victims of human trafficking and to help target the perpetrators.Advertisement
Labrador kept his promises to his constituents. He earned a nearly 96% conservative rating from the American Conservative Union; multiple 100% scores from the Family Research Council and National Right to Life; consistently high marks from the NRA, Gun Owners of America, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation; and was named a Guardian of Small Business by the nation’s largest small business organization, NFIB.
Prior to his service in Congress, Raúl Labrador was a successful attorney practicing in the areas of criminal, immigration, and adoption law. He owned a law firm with offices in Nampa and Boise. Labrador also served as a Law Clerk for the United States Court for the District of Idaho and interned for the Criminal Division of a United States Attorney’s office.
Labrador lives in Eagle, Idaho with his wife Rebecca. They are the proud parents to five children and have two grandchildren.
“I am the product of the American dream. I was raised by a single mother who made sure I had every opportunity she never had. She taught me that if I worked hard, was honest, treated people with respect and received a good education, I would be successful in life. As a young man, I earned the rank of Eagle Scout and developed leadership skills and discipline. I worked my way through college, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and a law degree from the University of Washington. I practiced law for several years and ran my own firm. When I decided to give back through public service, the citizens of Idaho granted me the privilege of serving them as a State Representative and a Member of Congress. I am so excited to serve the people of Idaho again,” said Labrador.
Labrador looks forward to working with conservative grassroots leaders and the working men and women of Idaho to build a strong campaign.

Raul, you are an excellent choice for Idaho Attorney General, the People look forward to your Win. Stay Strong!
I’m supporting Art Macomber for AG.
Art and Raul are two very good candidates for the Attorney General position. It would be very helpful to see them debate and/or item for item compare their stances.
Idaho Dispatch: Could you prepare a straight forward question & answer form for these two, and potentially candidates in other races, to respond to? This would have a lot of potential in order to help Citizens decide on their vote.
The current AG needs to go, along with Little and several others.
Got my vote. Spread the word
Not a resident of the First Congressional District is probably why I never received a reply, but now that Raul is running for a state wide office, I would like an answer please. His action on this issue did not match his words about maintaining our freedoms.

Dear Congressman Labrador,
For some time now I have been trying to figure out why so many Republicans would vote to do away with the COOL law, i.e., the Country Of Origin Labeling law. I must say I was somewhat shocked to find that you had voted to do so.
Here is the information from The Freedom Index regarding this:
H R 2393: Country of Origin Labeling Amendments Act of 2015
Vote Date: June 10, 2015
Country of Origin Labeling.
The proposed Country of Origin Labeling Amendments Act of 2015 (H.R. 2393) would amend the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 to repeal the requirements of Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) for beef, chicken, and pork sold in the United States. This vote came after the World Trade Organization’s recent ruling against an appeal from the United States to keep its COOL. Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) opposed passage of the bill to repeal COOL. From the House floor, Massie elaborated: “What is the World Trade Organization, and who are they to tell Congress what laws we have to pass? These judges weren’t appointed by the President. They weren’t confirmed by the Senate. These are not judges from our Constitution. These are extra-constitutional judges, yet they are telling us here in Congress you have got to do this or there will be repercussions.”
The House passed H.R. 2393 on June 10, 2015 by a vote of 300 to 131 (Roll Call 333). We have assigned pluses to the nays because this bill would cede national sovereignty over food-related choices and regulations to the WTO. Moreover, this bill would prevent American consumers from knowing where their food comes from.
Can you please tell me why so many Republicans and also you would vote to recind this?
In closing, may I commend you on your high ratings in the Freedom Index and all the time and work that you put in defending the Constitution and living up to your oath of office.
May God bless you.
Raul, you have my vote for sure.
Ever wary of lying politicians who say one thing on the campaign trail and then do the complete opposite when in office, I have to wonder if he was part of the GOP (Idaho) establishment swamp in his former role as Congressman? Idaho cannot afford anymore of those. Every single RINO in the ID legislature needs to be ousted, from Little to Bedke, to the encumbent ID SoS Denney. Every “establishment RINO” in the Idaho Republican Party needs to go, including RNC Chair Tom Luna. They only thing they care about is money. The GOP has pretty much abandoned it’s commitments to freedom, the Constitution, and to Federalism. If any candidate is not an America First Conservative, wholly and undeniably guided by the Constitution, they will not get my vote.
Fantastic, I was so hoping you’d throw your hat in the political ring again! Idaho needs ethical and honest candidates, and you’re at the top of the list.
