[WASHINGTON] – Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador will speak at a press conference outside the U.S. Supreme Court immediately following oral arguments Wednesday in State of Idaho v. United States of America.
The Office of the Idaho Attorney General, with the assistance of experienced Supreme Court litigators from ADF and Cooper & Kirk PLLC, is asking the nation’s high court to prevent the Biden administration from manipulating federal law to override Idaho’s Defense of Life Act. Idaho’s law protects the lives of women and their unborn children, preventing doctors from performing abortions unless necessary to save the life of the mother or in cases of rape or incest. Contrary to what the administration argues, Idaho’s law is fully consistent with federal law.
“The administration’s radical interpretation of federal law is nothing more than a lawless disregard for Idaho’s right to protect life,” Labrador said. “Idaho’s Defense of Life Act is perfectly consistent with the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act [EMTALA], which provides explicit protections for ‘unborn children’ in four separate places. But the Biden administration is trying to use one life-affirming law to invalidate another. We are asking the Supreme Court to end the administration’s unlawful overreach and to respect the decision of the people of Idaho to safeguard the lives of women and their unborn children.”
In August 2022, the Biden administration sued Idaho, claiming that EMTALA preempts Idaho’s protections for life and requires emergency room doctors to perform abortions that are unlawful in Idaho. But no conflict exists between EMTALA and Idaho’s law, as both seek to save lives, and neither force doctors to perform abortions in emergency rooms. After a lower court upheld the administration’s attempt to rewrite EMTALA and prevented Idaho from enforcing its law, the Supreme Court agreed to review the case and fully restored Idaho’s law while the case continues.

Most Idahoans support the right to choose.
Your quess that most Idahoens want choice in ability to abort is questionable, but a true leader does what is best for our state and/or country, not what the majority want. This is God’s world and he does not agree with murder in any sense of the word.
First, I don’t believe your premise that most Idahoans support the right to choose (baby murder). If that were the case they would be electing democrats into office, because democrats love the barbaric practice of so called abortion. They are bloodthirsty.

But even if you were correct, does that make it right for a Mother to pay a “Doctor” (butcher) to murder her child?
When a Mother pays a “doctor” to murder her poor little child she is sinning a great sin. And after the procedure is complete she is now a murderer (and so is the “doctor”- the only difference is he is a mass murderer, no doubt having murdered hundreds of other innocent babies).

Believing in Jesus Christ and becoming born again (John 3:3) is the only way to be forgiven on sin and have eternal life.
Soon we won’t have any experienced OB-GYNs to protect the lives of mothers. Rest easy, we’ll still have legislators who think they know more than doctors.
You might profit by listening to the testimony of a doctor to Congress who performed over 2000 abortions and admitted that not one of them was performed to save the mother’s life. The fact of the matter is that it takes at least three days for an abortifacient to prepare a woman’s uterus for an abortion – far longer than any “life-threatening” emergency.

Eternal life is more important than winning an election by going along with the crowd. Have you ever heard the saying, if everyone else jumped off a bridge would you do it too?

Those who support so called abortion are on the broad road that leads to destruction (following the majority) and need to become born again and get on the narrow path that leads to life. Winning an election won’t make a hill of beans in the end. Only where we end up in eternity will matter then.
