June Events Around Idaho
By Sarah Clendenon • June 2, 2024June has become a month of many events around Idaho – some that have been traditions for decades, others that have more recently begun. Here we highlight some which are the subject of discussion and excitement in Idaho cities and towns.
The Emmett Cherry Festival: June 12 through 15
“Since the 1930s, the community of Emmett and all of Gem County has gathered each June to celebrate the abundance of our valley. We celebrate with the region’s longest continually running festival, “The Emmett Cherry Festival.”
The Emmett Cherry Festival is always held during the second full week of June. The traditional Cherry Festival events, concerts and carnival all happen in the Emmett City Park starting on Wednesday and running through Saturday. Other celebrations and events take place throughout the community during the week of the Emmett Cherry Festival.

Weiser River Music Festival: June 13 through 15

Caldwell: Idaho’s Wild West Brewfest: June 15
“This ain’t yer average brew fest, it’s an old-timey rendezvous with the cowpoke spirits who once walked historic Caldwell’s dirt streets. This western-themed festival features everything we love about the wild west; beer, country music, and the country way of living. So, grab your spurs (costumes encouraged) and wax up your mustache (yep, there’s a contest) for a rootin’ tootin’ good time!
Over 35 breweries will be on-site to sample and taste from! The Brewfest is open to all ages and is free to attend, the beer tasting tickets are strictly for purchase by persons 21+.”
Coeur d’Alene: Kids’ Fishing Tournament: June 15
-Free for all kids ages 1-17 (First 200 kids to signup will receive FREE rod and reel combo on day of Derby (donated by Les Schwab Tire Center)
-FREE BBQ
-All kids MUST be accompanied by an Adult
-We will break up the age ranges into four groups
-Prizes will be awarded for the individuals that catch largest fish of each species.
-And largest fish for each age group.
-Winners will be determined by length (Come get fish measured any time during tournament hours
-Bring Your friends and Family
-Derby Hours are from 8am to 12pm although you do not have to be out fishing the whole time. The awards will be awarded shortly after noon at the Fernan Lake Park/Boat Launch on the West side of the lake.
-Be sure to sign up prior to fishing
-Start fishing anytime from 8am to 12pm There is no official check in.The National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Contest & Festival in Weiser: June 17 through 22
“In addition to our great Food and Craft/Merchandise vendors and free entertainment stage, local makers, artisans, and traditional skills practitioners will be presenting demonstrations in our special and brand-new Demonstration Booths area. Every couple of hours, there will be a new demonstration where you can observe, ask questions, actively engage, and learn from these knowledgeable folks. You will have an opportunity to see how soap is made, cast with a fly-fishing rod, build habitats for pollinator insects, throw pottery, spin yarn, carve wood, and so much more!
There will be a fiddle contest, campgrounds, city park vendors, free entertainment stage, a Saturday parade, and more!”
Idaho Falls Pride: June 21 through 28
“Idaho Falls Pride was created in 2012, and we continue to host events to promote inclusivity in our community each year.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you at our 12th annual Pride Festival! There will be live music, interactive performances, goodies for purchase, and more! As always, the Festival is a free and family friendly event.
Show your pride by joining us for our parade. All are welcome to participate in this free and family-friendly event.”
Boise Music Festival: June 22
“A family-friendly music festival held at Expo Idaho. Bands perform throughout the day on the Main Stage and the Local Stage. Every year, the Boise Music Festival hosts a carnival that’s fun for the entire family! From midway games where guests can win prizes, to family-friendly rides and even thriller attractions – we have something for everyone.”
Eagle: Old State Saloon Heterosexual Awesomeness Month: All of June
“June will be OSS’s inaugural Heterosexual Awesomeness Month! Come join us all month to celebrate heterosexuals, for without them, none of us would be here! Each Monday will be Hetero Male Monday and any heterosexual male dressed like a heterosexual male will receive a free draft beer. Each Wednesday is Heterosexual couples’ day and each heterosexual couple will receive 15% off their bill. More events to be announced in the coming weeks. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to stay informed. ALL are welcome to come celebrate heterosexuality with us in June!”
