Exclusive Interview with Bryan Smith, Republican Candidate for 2nd Congressional District
By Greg Pruett • December 15, 2021Idaho Dispatch has an opportunity to interview Bryan Smith, a Republican candidate for Idaho’s 2nd Congressional District.
Congressman Mike Simpson has not yet announced his re-election bid, but rumors are that Simpson will run again. However, he may face one or more challengers in the process.
Smith previously challenged Simpson in 2014 and is now doing so again. According to the FEC, Smith is the only current challenger listed to Simpson should he run again.
During the Idaho Dispatch interview with Smith, we discussed a range of topics from border security, election integrity, and the proposal to breach the dams in Idaho, which Smith says he opposes.

This was a good interview, thanks to both of you.
Let’s hope Mike Simpson doesn’t try to run again. He needs to be long gone from anything to do with Idaho politics. It’s a shame he still lingers around and continues to hurt Idahoans.
Bryan, it takes guts to try this again, know your efforts are appreciated.
I agree. Mike needs to be gone.
