Attorney General’s Office Releases Documents Regarding Rep. von Ehlinger Case Through Records Request

By • April 28, 2021

Idaho Dispatch first learned about some additional documents that existed regarding the case concerning Rep. Aaron von Ehlinger (R-Lewiston) from an article released by the Associated Press (AP) two days ago.

Yesterday, Idaho Dispatch was able to obtain the same documents the AP received. The documents came from the Idaho Attorney General’s office and were given to Idaho Dispatch through the House Ethics Committee secretary.

Because of the large number of documents contained in the file Idaho Dispatch received, we feel that writing one article and trying to capture the information contained in these documents in the short time before today’s hearing would be impossible. Additionally, we felt that fairly and objectively reporting the information in these documents would be hard if we tried to simply pick and choose which information to disclose in that short time frame and would likely mean that we left out information that was important to one side of the other.

The decision of Idaho Dispatch then for this particular case is to link to each and every document released by the Attorney General’s office and allow the public to review the documents themselves.

Below you will see a heading describing what is contained within a document and then a link to a PDF of the document itself. Documents are listed in the order of earliest date to the latest date and then documents with no date on them at the end. All documents appear to be from this year. The woman’s name has been redacted by the Attorney General’s office throughout each of the documents.
