Sen. Kelly Anthon Elected as Idaho Senate Pro Tem
By Greg Pruett • December 4, 2024The Idaho Senate has chosen Sen. Kelly Anthon (R-Burley) as the next president pro tempore for the 2025 and 2026 Idaho legislative sessions.
Anthon’s election as pro tem comes after Chuck Winder was defeated in the May primary. Winder was elected as pro tem in 2020.
The other leadership positions for the Republican side of the aisle in the Senate will be:

Sen. Lori Den Hartog (R – Meridian) – Majority Leader
Sen. Mark Harris (R – Soda Springs) – Assistant Majority Leader
Sen. Ben Toews (R – Coeur d’Alene) – Caucus Chair
Committee assignments, such as chairmanships and vice chairmanships, will be announced later this week.
The Idaho legislative session will begin in January.
