Press Release: AG Labrador Challenges Biden Proposal to Expand Obamacare for Ineligible Aliens
By Press Release • July 5, 2023The following press release was sent out by the office of Idaho Attorney General Raul Labrador. Press releases do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of those at the Idaho Dispatch.
Boise, ID — Attorney General Raúl Labrador joined a coalition of 16 states to challenge a proposed U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) rule that would allow some illegal aliens to receive Obamacare. The coalition of attorneys general, led by Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, urged HHS withdraw the proposed rule pending judicial review.
“The Biden administration is openly attempting to implement backwards incentive programs that promote immigration of illegal aliens. The self-contradictory nature of the proposed rulemaking is a clear violation of federal law and a continued effort of the federal government to undermine the lawful immigration process through deferred action,” Attorney General Labrador said.

The attorneys general oppose the proposed rule because federal law prohibits deferred action recipients from receiving federal public benefits.
“Aliens granted deferred action, including those in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program created by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)… are not included with Congress’s definition of ‘qualified alien,’ nor do they fall within an exception to the prohibition on public benefits,” the comment letter reads. “…Indeed, Congress broadly prohibited non-qualified aliens from receiving any federal public benefit ‘not withstanding any other provision of law.’”
The attorneys general also argue that deferred deportation recipients lack lawful immigration status under the Immigration Nationality Act.
“The Biden administration is seeking to flagrantly violate federal law by providing Obamacare benefits to illegal aliens. This is one more example of the administration willfully attacking the rule of law in immigration,” Kobach said.
Kansas led the coalition joined by Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The goal is to eliminate obamacare for all! No one benefits from government directed health care.
Yeah Winder, Little and Despot Bedke take heed, Idaho wants actual wellcare not state/insurance/federal company dictates.
The dumbed down Tv watching Idahoans just reelected Little ,,duh.
Unbelievable isn’t it? They’re not paying attention or just don’t care. ID sheep. Heading us all to slaughter- of our freedom/$/quality of life.
They tried to stop Labrador every way they could…..,
It’s clear that all those involved in doing so are the same Deepstate good ol’ boy crooks that only aim to protect their personal power and profits. Like it or not, THEY are enemies of a free and conservative ID. They’ve proved they will sell us all and turn ID into OR WA CA CO etc. Dead blue craphole tyrannical hellholes.
These are Mayorka’s border invaders. Unvetted unknowns being bussed and flown all over the US.
Do any of you need any more explanation?
When real history existed…., this would be called a war, right here in what’s left of the USA.
Labrador is a gift. Little Bedke Simpson et al need a one way trip to gitmo. But we don’t live in a sane world.
Especially Mike Simpson
The idiot Idahoans keep reelecting the incumbents . Risch and the other one gots to go. Look at thei voting records.
We must demand legislation that requires all paper ballots; eliminating all machines/ dropboxes/ballot harvesting; require official legal picture ID: legal voter eligibility (if not already established on legal voter registries, residence/citizenship proof must be required); annual purging of voter rolls; only authorized absentee ballots accepted/examined; hand counting observed by vetted trained workers and observers; more than sufficient sheriffs and police at every voting station; shorter window for “early voting”; election “day” (not week, month, etc.); counting is completed election day night, or next day at the latest!
Every procedure that prevents rigging and/or fraudulent actions/activities!! Save America!
Thank you AG Labrador for doing what we elected you to do!
This country is known for the rule of Law and the Biden administration along with the left are doing everything possible to circumvent it. Thankfully Raul was elected AG for Idaho. I hope he runs for Governor next time and puts Little and Bedke into retirement. I am tired of hearing this is a red state and seeing how Little and Bedke sell it out at every opportunity. I really believe we need to wake up all the political refugees from CA, OR and WA and get them registered and active to vote. God Bless Dorothy Moon for holding the sellouts carrying the R accountable. It is time to purge the GOP of those who vote with the left.
Thank you, Raul Labrador!
It’s about time someone from a elected position in Idaho actually did something for Idaho and wasn’t in the very last row.
