Op-Ed: Turning Point’s Impact on Young Adult Engagement

This past weekend, the energy inside the Phoenix Convention Center was electrifying. I had the privilege of joining fellow Idahoans at Turning Point’s 2024 AmericaFest (AmFest), an incredible event that united over 20,000 patriots. Once again, it proved why it stands as the largest conservative movement in America. For young adults eager to engage in shaping the political landscape, this event was nothing short of impactful. The leadership of Charlie Kirk and Turning Point has ignited a fire across college campuses, and the evidence was clear in the young adult-driven momentum of the 2024 election.
The powerhouse lineup of speakers at AmFest exemplified strength and vision for the America First agenda. Tucker Carlson captivated the audience with his unapologetic candor. Charlie Kirk, the force behind Turning Point, inspired countless young people to step up and defend conservative values. President Donald J. Trump brought the crowd to its feet with his unwavering commitment to Making America Great Again. A couple more of my favorites in attendance included Kari Lake, nominated to lead Voice of America, and Harmeet Dhillon, chosen for Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights—two bold figures ready to fight for America in new roles.
Young adults made their voices heard like never before in the 2024 election, and it’s no coincidence that Turning Point played a critical role. Through persistent outreach, campus engagement, and events like AmFest, this movement is transforming how young Americans interact with politics. As this past election witnessed the highest turnout for the young male demographic, it is clear that a rejuvenated youth base is ready to preserve the freedoms they cherish. The enthusiasm was palpable in Phoenix—from students attending their first political rally to seasoned supporters.
The 2024 AmericaFest was more than an event; it was a declaration. It reminded us that the fight for America’s future starts on college campuses, in community gatherings, and in the minds of those willing to act. The momentum from AmFest is undeniable, and this is only the beginning. Watch out, 2025. The youth have awakened—and they’re ready to lead. The nation has been clear, let’s Make America Great Again.
