Op-Ed: Gem State Heist – Beware the White Elephants

By • May 15, 2024

There is a Gem State Heist underway for the state of Idaho. Moderates/Neocons/Establishment Republicans screeched at a pitch heard all the way from the stratosphere when Dorothy Moon won the GOP chair position in 2022; their nepotism and money pedaling through the party coming to a halt. They’ve waited loudly for two years. There was writing on the wall that they were concocting a nefarious plan to try to steal back the party from the grassroots who overcame them. We saw Trent Clark writing whiney op ed after op ed. We saw Jim Jones flex his “I’m a REAL Republican” muscle, hot off the heels of running an executive race for a Democrat. We have seen social media convergence of socialists & antifa with all these Dorothy Moon denigrators, recruiting every unprincipled person from the bottom of the septic tank, to join their GOP hate army.

Alas their plan unfolds. Trent Clark and his merry band of morally deficient operatives have pledged to raise $2 million to fight for the precinct committeeman spots around the state. They make click and print signs/literature available to all who join their cause and billionaires like Franklin Vandersloot of Melaleuca opens up the ATM for them. Lobbyist now found themselves signing up at the county clerk’s office to enter local races, a quick transition from pressuring legislators to fund their multi-million-dollar corporate masters in the form of statute (I wonder if they’re getting a bonus?). Up north- Kootenai’s most vile Democrats have affiliated as Republican to enter these races. Health executives, real estate moguls, even the city Mayor joined in as an attempt to put their boots on the necks of the grassroots committee who has unwaveringly pushed back on corporate and government overreach in the county.

Luckily for the public there has been a key feature in every single candidate of the Gem State Heist Army.. the white elephant. It is printed on signs and literature all across the state. Remember who the white elephants are in your neighborhood and vote for the other guy. Or you can use my list below.

We will not be defeated by elitist funded attacks on our Conservative Party. Tell everyone you know to vote against the white elephants.

  1. The dumbed down Tv watchers will reelect their incumbent with the same descretion as the chose their favorite programs. TV watchers are the most dumbed down people on the planet.

  2. So is your list composed of the white elephants? Or is a list of people to vote for? Please clarify.

    1. Please re-read

“Remember who the white elephants are in your neighborhood and vote for the other guy. Or you can use my list below.”

  3. So much for even a modicum of fair and balanced reporting from this media outlet. The list from the opposition could be published if there’s any concern regarding fairness. Don’t worry, though. I have no such foolish expectation.

      1. No, sorry, but I cannot. I’d suggest that such a list could best be thought as “anyone besides these” folks. Personally, I’d prefer that folks do a little research, but that’s asking too much.

  4. Article is confusing at best. Does the list consist of the “White Elephants” (RINOs) or is it the preferred voting list. Several names listed I know personally are true Conservatives.

    1. Please re-read

“Remember who the white elephants are in your neighborhood and vote for the other guy. Or you can use my list below.”

    2. I “DITTO” your comment…..Brent Regan, Joe Alfeiri, Tammy Nichols, Stoltz and Tanner….. true Conservatives.

    3. I reached out to the author, Lauren Walker, of this piece for clarification.

Here is what she said, “Tell them this is all the actual grassroots conservative candidates running for PC in the state.”

  5. I see a mistake in this list under Payette County: The RINOS running here are Scott Syme, John Shirts, and Judy Boyle. Syme brags that his “good friend” Abby Lee (Ultra RINO) begged him to run. She plans to cop a Senate seat. Shirts shares the glossy 4-color handouts which presumes guilt by association. Boyle’s voting record stinks as badly as Abby Lee’s.

Jaycn Gallagher and Brandon Shippy are the ONLY Good candidates here.

  6. No confusion. She states-

“Remember who the white elephants are in your neighborhood and vote for the other guy. Or you can use my list below.”

  7. Recant the article … pull it. It doesn’t make sense and there are some good folks that we need that have been battling in the trenches for us. This article to me suggests these good people are the white elephants to be voted against.

    1. I agree. It’s very poorly written and vague. Writing a political ad 101- be very clear. Be super clear on who the intended “good guy” and “bad guy” are.

  8. This article is at best gas-lighting and trade-craft.
It is meant to be confusing. Do your own research.

  9. Please define what ‘white elephant’ is? This is so confusing! Are ‘white elephants’ good or bad? I have no idea what this means! Sorry, I have never heard this term before…maybe spelling out what you intend to say rather than a slang phrase would be best? I’m so confused I won’t vote!

  10. I have no idea what to do with this list. It would be very helpful to match the names to the position they are running for.

  11. Just repeating the same confusing line does not clarify the intent. Are you intending readers to “use the list below” to “remember who the white elephants are,” or to identify “the other guy”?

  12. One might also note that the stars on the white elephants are upside down. That seems pretty anti American to me.

  13. Wait Judy Boyle a rino ?!! were on gods earth to come up with this pure trash. Let’s be clear here. Where is the money coming from to try and oust Mike Moyle and Chuck Winder ? That’s Weed/drugs industry lobbyists out of DC putting up a million dollars to get these guys out so they can pass legalizing weed in Idaho and put dispensaries in all of Your city’s. So your kids can have extra access to weed.the Republican Party in Idaho has been pretty clear on the stance about legalizing weed in our state for years period. There is no place for this in our state. So if your a libertarian in republicans clothing get a grip and run under whatever whack job ideals that Libertarians have. If it’s what the public want they should have no issue having to vote for a libertarian. Want to wreck Idaho? Allow that DC Lobbyist Drug money make you loose all reality you have had in the past. Look to your right look to your left of states that have done this and look at the chaos that win gulf this state. Also don’t be to small minded to see Democrats pushing this agenda because the chaos that would take place with this list elected which is like a 2 year old put it together. People can’t even understand what and where your talking about. Your def not getting a call from the New York Times or the Wall Street journal and that picture of you at the top of the article. Are you having a laugh ? Did you mistake this for your tinder account most inappropriate image for a journalist to have. Sorry I can’t even call you that. Hack with dc drug money in her pocket. You never have and never will have any journalistic integrity. Period.

  14. Is she trying convince people that Chair Moon is as useless as an ass on an elbow?
