Interview with Secretary of State Phil McGrane about Prop 1

When McGrane drafted the letter, the initiative had not yet been certified. Some disputes have arisen from the letter, particularly the estimated cost of implementing the initiative’s ranked choice voting aspect.
McGrane’s letter estimated approximately $40 million in costs, while Idahoans for Open Primaries says the estimated cost is under $500,000. Idaho Dispatch asked about that discrepancy in estimates.
Additionally, Idaho Dispatch asked McGrane about implementing ranked choice voting if someone does not get to a 50% majority in the first round for statewide races such as governor. That and more in the interview you can watch below.
