Dispatch Show Canceled After Health Issues Continue. Latest Update and Special Request!
By Greg Pruett • July 6, 2022A special message from Idaho Dispatch Editor Greg Pruett.
Last night we had to cancel our planned show, “The Dispatch,” after I could not physically sit and do the show.
Many of you already know that I had foot surgery several weeks ago. What came from that was multiple infections, massive headaches, numerous fevers, and a lot of back pain.
Yesterday, for my kids’ hiking channel, I explained it all in detail because, at the time, I was feeling pretty good. For those who want to watch the full explanation of what has happened in the last few weeks, you can view the video.
I do also have a special favor to ask of our readers. My kids have a hiking channel where they encourage people to get outdoors and go hiking. I serve as the cameraman for the channel, and I wanted to do an explanation for their hiking channel on why we hadn’t been able to get videos on there recently.
The kids have a goal of 1,000 subscribers by the end of the year and 600 by the end of July. Please consider subscribing and encourage them to continue their hiking adventures!
Be warned that I do show some of the pictures of my foot in this video, but it is the shortest and most detailed explanation of what has happened to me over the last month:
I intended to also do this video or something similar for The Dispatch last night, but by the time it got close to doing the show, I couldn’t sit up straight without being in a lot of pain.
Even again this morning, as I sat at my desk to try and do work, my back seized up, and I was in so much pain I could barely make it to my bed to lay down for a bit and rest.
Clearly, I am not quite ready to be back to “normal.” But I did want to put out this quick message for our readers so they can be updated on my current status.
We are finally getting content out and going again but not quite at the pace I would like to do so.
I want to thank you all for your patience and understanding as I continue to fight my way back to good health. I especially want to thank those who have been praying for my recovery.
I am in much better shape now with my foot.
The infections are gone, we believe. The rash that covered my body from head to toe is gone. My headaches and fever are gone.
The last remaining ailment is my back which is the worst it has been in a very long time. I hope and pray that it will get much better in the coming days so I can get more content out there and back in the mountains with my kids.
Sincerely,
Greg Pruett

Damn Greg! That sounds (and looks) like a nightmare. Glad you had a good outcome. God bless you.
You’ve got this! No problem, full recovery awaits. Prayers and Best for You and Family!
Praying for you Greg! Blessings to you and your family! I know what that back pain feels like brother, several surgeries later my back seizes up completely every now and again and I’m down for days. Hang in there!
Had back surgery years ago but recently it started to hurt again and this time I got excellent relief with acupuncture…definitely worth a try…
