Congressman Fulcher Announces Cancer Diagnosis

By • June 20, 2021

Congressman Russ Fulcher (R) has announced that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

On Fulcher’s Facebook page, he said he usually posts political messages but had personal information he wanted to share. In the post, Fulcher said that he has cancer in the renal area but anticipates that the doctors will be able to remove the cancer and that he will make a full recovery.

Additionally, Fulcher said that the diagnosis and treatment would not interfere with his congressional duties.

Here is what Fulcher posted on his Facebook page:

A personal note to my friends and neighbors:

I frequently reach out to you to communicate politically themed messages or request your counsel regarding the same. But today’s message is for a different purpose… to relay some personal information.

No one likes to hear the “C” word, especially when having a discussion with their physician, but as many of you have previously experienced… sometimes it happens. I recently learned that there is cancer in a portion of my renal system.

The good news is: My case is treatable, and I anticipate a full recovery. Throughout the treatment process I will be diligent in continuing my congressional duties.

As a Christian, I believe things happen for a reason. This is a time for me to learn and grow from what many of you already have personal appreciation for. By the time it’s over I will be better educated, have more compassion for those with similar experiences, have increased appreciation for our healthcare system, and be a better person!

As always, should you need assistance working through federal issues or have policy concerns, do not hesitate to contact one of my offices. Thank you for your understanding, and your prayers!

  1. Sounds like a publicity stunt (I mean, I’m sure he has cancer, but doesn’t seem like a PR worthy type). Why announce it if it’s no big deal? It won’t interfere with his job or anything right?

He’s afraid of being primaried, this will give him sympathy.

I wonder what Brandi Swindell thinks of this?? Anyone ask her?

    1. Trevor, if Congressman Fulcher had not made an announcement, would he have been criticized for not disclosing his cancer? Almost certainly and the criticism would have taken the form of accusing him of not being fit for re-election. Which means there are people who will criticize him for any action, or lack of action, made with regard to his cancer.

      This is shameful.

I believe the Congressman has been honest with us and we should be praying for the Congressman to fully recover.

      1. Ramsy, I heartily agree with you! Congressman Fulcher needs our prayers, not criticism.

    2. You are a dumbass. Did you really call a cancer diagnosis a publicity stunt?
That takes a special kind of stupid!

God bless Russ and his family,

      Oh from Eagle

      1. Say that to my face and I’ll kick your butt. You bless god with that potty mouth? Also, what does Brandi Swindell think about Russ?

        1. Brandi enjoys getting #’d by Russ and being the bad girl who split up Russ’s family, all the while she sucks money away from christian churches in the name of saving babies. #hypocrites
