Press Release: Three Complaints Filed Today Against Valley County and Valley County Sheriff’s Captain David Stambaugh
By Press Release • March 11, 2021The following Press Release was sent to Idaho Dispatch from the law office of Joe Filicetti:
On March 10, 2021, my office filed three complaints against Valley County (the Valley County Sheriff’s Office) and Captain David Stambaugh for his actions against James Cole, a lifelong military and law enforcement officer who ran for Valley County Sheriff in 2020, the former Undersheriff Jason Speer, and Marine Deputy Ed Parker (former McCall and Garden City Police Chief).
The complaint for James Cole relates to actions by current Undersheriff/Captain David Stambaugh who released confidential medical and personal information about then-Candidate for
Sheriff Candidate James Cole, by using a false name of Darby Yost and publicizing information to the media and on Facebook that was only known due to James Cole’s application for
employment with the Valley County Sheriff’s Office. Further, Stambaugh used this information to defame Cole during his run for Sheriff.AdvertisementThe complaint for former Undersheriff Jason Speer relates to confidential employment information related to his Peace Officer Standards and Testing (POST) and internal affairs investigation. POST recently cleared Jason Speer and reinstated his POST certificate. Stambaugh also used this information by publishing online and to the media. Further Stambaugh has used his position to interfere with Jason Speer’s current employment.
The complaint for Marine Deputy Ed Parker (former McCall and Garden City Police Chief) relates to Stambaugh threating him and assaulting him on Parker’s own property, which resulted in Parker resigning from his job and finding a new residence as he felt unsafe living near Stambaugh. Parker is 74 years old and is a recovering cancer patient. Stambaugh further admitted to Ed Parker that he was “Darby Yost”.
All three complaints allege negligent hiring and retention of Dave Stambaugh by Sheriff Patti Bolen and the Valley County Sheriff’s Office.

Well!…. A bit of similarity to the blending of:
1.) The Nights the Lights went out in Georgia, and
2.) Harper Valley PTA……
Welcome to: “Valley County USA”
Sounds about right.
Trial by press?
I dated Dave from 1998-2008, while he lived in California. I was an idiot for denying how much of a morally corrupt human being he was and still is. Knowing him, it wouldn’t surprise me if this is all true.
I dated Dave Stambaugh when he resided in California in the early 90s, 2005, and later found out he was married. Lol, this guy!
