Press Release: Community will rally in support of law enforcement Monday night with Governor, speakers, country concert at Ford Idaho Center

By • October 5, 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nampa, Idaho — On Monday evening, the community will rally together in support of law enforcement at the Back the Blue Idaho celebration at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa.

Meridian resident Joe Anderson began organizing the event after he saw a change in how law enforcement officers are being treated in our country. “I wanted to find a way to lift up the 99% of officers who are doing the right thing every day,” said Anderson.

Amplify the 99 was born, and a team of people all over the country have joined together to make this event the first of many supportive efforts. The event wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of those who have sponsored the event and the hard work of volunteers.

The event will bring the community together to support the men and women working to serve our communities in law enforcement across this great nation. A “Back the Blue” motorcycle ride is being organized in conjunction with the event by former military veteran David Conley, founder of the One More Day Veteran Suicide Prevention Program and an avid American Legion Rider. A convoy of motorcycle riders, including some law enforcement units, will arrive at the Idaho Center together to join the celebration.

Event details:

  • Beginning at 6:00 p.m., the event will feature keynote speakers Governor Brad Little and Dr. Darrin Porcher, a retired NYPD Lieutenant. Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue, Meridian Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea, and Treasure Valley Lodge FOP President Joe Andreoli will also speak at the event. Paul Butler will be the Master of Ceremonies.

  • Following the speakers, rising country star Levi Blom will perform a concert.

  • Doors open for the pre-show event, beginning at 4:00 p.m., where attendees can enjoy live music by the Grant Webb Band, food trucks and more. The pre-show will also be live-streamed on the Amplify the 99 Facebook page.
