Press Release: Hughston Campaign Addresses Ballis’s Campaign-Related Misinformation
By Press Release • October 30, 2024The following press release was sent out by the Hughston for Sheriff campaign. Press releases do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of those at the Idaho Dispatch.
(Hailey, Idaho) October 29, 2024- In recent days, it has come to our attention that emails containing categorically false and salacious information about Aaron Hughston, his spouse, and their minor daughter have been circulated as part of a solicitation effort to garner support for Morgan Ballis’s campaign. These emails, sent by Ballis’s spouse, Desiree Ballis, contain misinformation intended to mislead voters and detract from the real issues at stake in this election.
“It is interesting that Ballis cried foul when his criminal records appropriately became part of the campaign dialogue, and at the same time, his campaign was distributing blatant lies about innocent parties to solicit support,” stated Aaron Hughston. “These actions cross a line that harms individuals who are not political candidates. The well-being of families, particularly children, should be respected in all campaign activities.” Hughston confirmed that Ballis’s spouse was recently served with a cease and desist letter from his attorney and demand to retract her false statements.

He is married to his beloved wife who is a Blaine County school teacher. Together they are raising their daughter in the valley. Hughston has weathered the economic storms in the valley, surviving and thriving as a small business owner. Hughston has spent 20 years working and raising his family here with the utmost candor and has proven himself to be a trusted leader. Hughston concluded by stating, “Our community deserves leaders who embody the values of truthfulness, honor and integrity – and voters should ask themselves whether the candidate they are voting for represents these values, regardless of political party.”
