Press Release: Risch, Crapo on Senate Passage of Supplemental

By • February 14, 2024

The following press release was published on the website of U.S. Senator for Idaho Jim Risch. Press releases do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of those at the Idaho Dispatch.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Jim Risch (R-Idaho) and Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) today released the following statement on Senate passage of the national security supplemental funding package:

“Our first and primary responsibility as senators is the safety and security of Idaho and the United States of America. This is done through a strong and ready national defense and by having capable and equipped allies.

“It is critically important we help defend Israel, prohibit funding for the antisemitic UN Relief and Works Agency, stop the advancement of China, and halt Russia from once again expanding its adversarial empire. This package re-energizes some of our military manufacturing capabilities which have fallen woefully behind and replenishes American weapon systems which have become dangerously low due to conflicts around the world.

“Further, it makes important investments in America’s energy independence through nuclear research and provides tools to interrupt the illicit global drug trade, like hampering the profits made by selling fentanyl, which will save lives in Idaho and across the country.

“The United States cannot be the policeman of the world, nor can we engage in every conflict, which is why we must support allies who will stand with us in what is a very dangerous time globally. Although this legislation is not what we would have drafted, it is a strong bill that makes Idaho and America safer – our first responsibility.”

  1. Think about this: Crapo & Risch voted on the side of Schwab/Soros/Obama/Biden.

Crapo & Risch have voted to fund corruption and mercenaries in foreign lands.

Thankfully the House will nullify these foolish votes.

  2. Hey fellas, we got some problems going on here at the home front. Might want to make this the priority.

  3. Kinda makes you wonder how they will vote when the Mayorkas impeachment comes before the Senate.

  4. One thing I notice in this “announcement” is that they don’t even address the major funding in this bill: to Ukraine. Ukraine for the past thirty years has been the most corrupt nation _in the world_. And there’s no wondering why the Democrats have been there that whole time but I thought Republicans had more ethics.

We need to STOP funding Democrat slush funds – especially when we’re BORROWING the money to do it.

  5. Not one word about America’s border problems in their press release.

But don’t worry, kids, these globalists will campaign as pro-second amendment champions and all will be well again for Jim and Mike.

  6. AIPAC $$$$
    RAYTHEON $$$$$$
    Ukrainian oligarchs $$$$$$$

Jim and Mike are aiding the infiltration of narco gangs and terror cells into Idaho.

  7. To hell with Ukraine!!! Support Israel, and secure the borders!!! If they don’t stand for that, then they have no business in their offices!!! Not as Republicans anyways!!! They would be Oath BREAKERS!!!

  8. Both Risch and Crap are worthless collaborators! Both voted to send billions to the Ukraine and say Screw You America. They voted along side Demon-rats. They are nit MAGA. They are finished

  9. So disappointing!! There is not enough “political speak” to make this sound ok. Spending money we don’t have is a hard NOOOOOOOOOOO! I guess money talks and B*** S*** walks.

  10. Definitely they are both infected by Mitch McConnell. If they can’t see any further down the road than that it’s time for us to change up our Senators!

  11. Risch and Crapo, your yes vote on spending of 95.3 Billion tax dollars to be sent overseas is deplorable. You have given into the liberal destruction of my beloved USA with this vote because you have abandon our border invasion by not holding the liberal ,socialist, communist, democrats and Joe Biden accountable to shut down our border. As evidenced by your approval of sending and spending USA tax dollars on the borders of foreign countries and forgetting who you were elected to serve and protect. You have both lost my vote regardless of who is on the ticket next election. You are ridiculous and please do not tell me this 95.3 Billion dollar debacle is for the good of the USA, Baloney and other common terms apply. Fix it.

    1. Jim and Mike think all they need to do is highlight their positions protecting Idaho’s natural resources from the feds and take a picture wearing a cowboy hat and holding a rifle to ensure their re-elections.

  12. Funny, they signed off on this money and were told flat out about a trap stating if Trump is elected and dumps Ukraine money he is automatically impeached in the bill. These two are disgusting, time to move them out and on down the road. Hope there are people running against them.

  13. I believe Idaho was the only state to have BOTH of its senators vote for this garbage.

Not one $ for OUR borders, but $$$millions galore for the borders of Ukraine. These two are stuck in a WWII mentality and are Churchill-wanna-be’s.

Jim and Mike: Russia is NOT our problem. OUR OBRDERS are our problem and yet you two pukes turn a blind eye. The blood of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians–an entire generation–is on your hands. Not sure how you can live with yourselves, but I guess the money-laundered cash you both enjoy and the cash from Big Ag you get to spend to keep cheap farm laborers coming over the border (among the fentanyl, sex/human traffickers, terrorists, rapists, murderers, criminals, etc.) is worth it to you. You two are utterly worthless.

Everyone else: we had our chance to primary and then unseat Crapo in 2022 with Scott Cleveland, true MAGA. We failed. I hope we will do better when Risch decides to “listen” to us as he approaches another election year.

  14. You’re right Jim Jam. Those who passed this bill didn’t care about the money but to trap Trump and force Trump to send money to Ukraine or they will impeach him. So, the only hope left is that Mike Johnson vetoes this bill.
The American people should stop paying federal taxes because DC has over spent not for the American people but for other countries…. Paying the illegals when they are here and yet we can’t even get help.

  15. Not one comment in support of this vote by both our senators. That’s what I would call a CLUE. But these career politicians don’t care what their constituents think. They are bought and paid for. Follow the money. They represent their globalist elites as kept men, whoring their votes for what serves the Deep State, not the state of Idaho.
Fellow Idahoans, this is the call to organize a primary candidate to run against each of them in their next election. Remember their treason. They are counting on your short memory.

  16. POOR OLE JOE GETS ALL THE BLAME WHEN MY GUESS IT IS OBAMA
AS HE SAID HE WOULLD LIKE TO BE SETTING IN HIS BASEMENT
AND RUNNING THE GOVERNMENT FROM THERE..

LET UP ON OLD JOE HE ONLY DOES WHAT HE IS TOLD TO DO. IT IS
ELDERLY ABUSE FROM HIS WIFE AND THE DEMOCRAT PARTY.
SHAME SHAME ON THEM. HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING

    1. True about who is pulling the strings, but Trump isn’t running against anonymous puppeteers, he’s running against Joe Biden, so Biden has to take the hits. For now.

  17. My question is, what allies do we have since Biden has been in office? They are all laughing at us taking advantage of our brain dead leader. Our biggest problem is the open border!! Those two RINO idiots don’t even mention that. They like all the money they get from agriculture for the cheap labor; never mind the danger to the rest of us. Remember this next time they want our vote!!!
