Op-Ed: Idaho Republican Party Strongly Denounces Unjust Persecution of Donald Trump, Citing Threat to Democracy and Public Trust
By Dorothy Moon • August 23, 2023The unjust targeting of President Donald J. Trump for political reasons has raised significant alarm. It is evident that the principles of a fair and transparent electoral process have been greatly compromised, as President Trump has become the victim of unlawful and corrupt investigations and indictments aimed at curbing his campaign for President.
In America, a candidate’s ability to campaign freely is a cornerstone of the electoral process. The weaponization of the Federal Government, State Governments and the criminal justice system to suppress political opposition undermines the very essence of democracy. It is imperative that candidates are allowed to present their ideas, engage with voters, and participate in campaigning without the looming threat of unjust legal action or political persecution.
The Idaho Republican Party firmly condemns the political and legal persecution of Donald Trump. Such actions not only erode the foundations of democracy but also undermine public trust in institutions that are meant to safeguard the rights and freedoms of citizens.
We would like to extend a sincere invitation to President Trump and all of the Republican Presidential candidates to come to Idaho to campaign freely. By providing an environment where candidates can express their ideas without undue interference, we aim to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and ensure that the voice of the people remains the driving force behind our nation.

Hear, hear!! Keep up the great work Chairwoman Moon.
Thank-you for this. Tyranny and lawlessness in all forms needs to be stood up against too. The oft repeated refrain of “no one is above the law” also applies to those who practice the law…such as state county DA’s; Federal investigators, and all legal professionals. In fact, their conduct should be pristine as they set the example for the rest of us.
Oh really!!! What about Ammon Bundy Republican Party????
I would love to see the real president Trump here in Idaho!
For Ammon, we need to weed out the rhinos, starting at the top. Remember folks – you could be the next one in line that your government has a bulls-eye placed on your back to keep you away from the truth!
Having voted for Dorothy, Fulcher and Labrador I’m disgusted with my ill places faith that these people would be different. As far as Risch and Crapo, they lost my vote long ago. My families ballots with have one box filled for DJT. The rest will remain blank.
Attempted a coup, tried to bully Georgia officials to make up votes, too dumb not to take nuclear secrets back to mar-a-lago. Lock him up.
