2024 RNC Bringing Ideological Shifts in GOP Party Platform
By Sarah Clendenon • July 17, 2024The Republican National Convention is currently underway in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Idaho Dispatch brought you information earlier today that all of Idaho’s 32 delegates have pledged their support for Donald Trump.
The gathering of GOP delegates is producing changes in the platform of the national Republican party with elected officials, candidates, voters, and enthusiasts there to show support. There is a shift toward ‘more inclusivity’ through language changes regarding marriage and abortion.
For example, in 2016 the platform heading ‘Marriage, Family, and Society’ included the following statement:
“Foremost among those institutions is the American family. It is the foundation of civil society, and the cornerstone of the family is natural marriage, the union of one man and one woman.”
It also stated,
“Our laws and our government’s regulations should recognize marriage as the union of one man and one woman and actively promote married family life as the basis of a stable and prosperous society.”

“The data and the facts lead to an inescapable conclusion: Every child deserves a married mom and dad.”
In 2024 the platform mentions ‘sanctity of marriage,’ but does not specify what marriage looks like. It has been changed to a heading of ‘Empower American Families’ with new language that reads,
Advertisement“Republicans will promote a Culture that values the Sanctity of Marriage, the blessings of childhood, the foundational role of families, and supports working parents. We will end policies that punish families.”
On the topic of abortion, the 2016 platform went to great lengths to explain the strong opposition to end the life of an unborn child. It included these statements:
“We oppose the use of public funds to perform or promote abortion or to fund organizations, like Planned Parenthood, so long as they provide or refer for elective abortions or sell fetal body parts rather than provide healthcare. We urge all states and Congress to make it a crime to acquire, transfer, or sell fetal tissues from elective abortions for research, and we call on Congress to enact a ban on any sale of fetal body parts. In the meantime, we call on Congress to ban the practice of misleading women on so-called fetal harvesting consent forms, a fact revealed by a 2015 investigation. We will not fund or subsidize healthcare that includes abortion coverage.”
“We support the appointment of judges who respect traditional family values and the sanctity of innocent human life. We oppose the non-consensual withholding or withdrawal of care or treatment, including food and water, from individuals with disabilities, newborns, the elderly, or the infirm, just as we oppose euthanasia and assisted suicide.”
“We affirm our moral obligation to assist, rather than penalize, women who face an unplanned pregnancy. In order to encourage women who face an unplanned pregnancy to choose life, we support legislation that requires financial responsibility for the child be equally borne by both the mother and father upon conception until the child reaches adulthood.”
“Over a dozen states have passed Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Acts prohibiting abortion after twenty weeks, the point at which current medical research shows that unborn babies can feel excruciating pain during abortions, and we call on Congress to enact the federal version. Not only is it good legislation, but it enjoys the support of a majority of the American people. We support state and federal efforts against the cruelest forms of abortion, especially dismemberment abortion procedures, in which unborn babies are literally torn apart limb from limb.”
In contrast, the 2024 platform document calls out only “late-term abortions.”
“We proudly stand for families and Life. We believe that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States guarantees that no person can be denied Life or Liberty without Due Process, and that the States are, therefore, free to pass Laws protecting those Rights. After 51 years, because of us, that power has been given to the States and to a vote of the People.
We will oppose Late Term Abortion, while supporting mothers and policies that advance Prenatal Care, access to Birth Control, and IVF (fertility treatments).”
Charles Moran, a man who describes himself as “National Log Cabin GOP President, policy analyst, advocate and development consultant. LGBTQ and media surrogate” tweeted this today,

Moran’s organization, Log Cabin Republicans, held an event at the RNC entitled the “Big Tent Event.”
Newswire also tweeted,
“For first time in decades, Republican platform removes opposition to same-sex marriage.”
Idaho Senator Brian Lenney responded by saying,

Donald Trump, or Donald J Trump as his worshippers call him is a fraud. I’m a true conservative who has never voted for a democrat in my entire life, and I vote for Donald J Trump twice, but never again.
As a true conservative I will not vote for a man who is in favor of sodomite marriage. I will not endorse something that God brought down fire from heaven to destroy, because it is a most vile sin that destroys any nation that allows it to fester. They call this guy the most pro “gay” president we’ve ever had. That’s not a good thing. As we see first it’s “gays” then it’s transgenders, next it’s pedos. It never stops at “gays”. As a true conservative I will not vote for a man that spent more money in his first term than Barak Hussein Obama did. Hussein was the most reckless spending president we ever had up until Donald J Trump the supposed conservative. What a disgrace. He spent our money like there was no end.
As a true conservative I will not vote for a man who said he was going to build a impenetrable wall, yet the wall was built so weakly there is videos on The show Law and Border where Mexicans were able to break parts of the wall easily and the flow came in right through the wall!!! I will give Trump credit on the border, he did stop the flow significantly but to build a wall like that is inexcusable. One would think it was done on purpose by this traitor.
As a true conservative I can’t vote for a man who is in favor of special favors for certain groups (pandering) like his proposal for a “platinum plan” for blacks. In the plan (pandering for votes like democrats do) he gives black people a bunch of our hard earned tax payer money. This is unconstitutional and certainly not conservative. A true conservative provides conditions (low taxes/ deregulation/etc) where people can go out and earn there own money. A true conservative doesn’t give out a bunch of welfare money for votes. A disgrace for someone who calls himself conservative.
Also, as we all know, Mr Trump likes to act like a big tough guy. But when push came to show he was more like a pansy. His whole term he was bogged down in one fake investigation after another, and he did nothing to go after those who were fraudulently coming after him. Not a thing. He promised a special prosecutor to look into the crook Hilary Clinton, yet when he had his chance did nothing because he was too scared. Now look at the result they’re still coming after him because he was too scared to go after the real crooks when he has his chance. A real pansy.
He appointed one bozo after another who did nothing but stab him in the back and make him look like a a fool. He even appointed the moron Christopher Wray who is a deep state shill. Trump the fraud did nothing to “drain the swamp”. He appointed nothing but swamp creatures. He never fired the proven fraud “Dr” Fraudchi or the scarf lady, as they ran roughshod over our rights, with many poor folks losing their livelihoods and others, sadly, resorting to suicide after losing it all. And that is the legacy of this big mouth deceiver. Now we have thousands dying unexpectedly from these poison shots. Don’t ever forget he shut the country down to “stop the spread” (of the phony covid). How stupid (or corrupt) does one need to be to shut his own economy down completely. What a fool.

Trump’s hands were tied all 4 years by the Administrative State, the UNELECTED, career administrators who have been imposing their propaganda, lies and power over the citizens. As far as some of the speakers at the RNC, if you didn’t actually listen to their own words you wouldn’t know that the point of them being invited was to show that dug-in leftists can be convinced otherwise if they do their own homework. That was the message from Amber Rose who continues to stand up the the haters and race baiters such as Joy Reid and company.

You sounds like a compromiser to me. We have too many of them on our side to begin with and what good have they done (governor little, Lindsay Graham, Mitt Romney, etc etc) for our cause? Answer: no good only harm.

If you think having a porn “star” (hooker) give a speech and striping the party platform of a true definition of marriage being between one man and one women, and saying the abortion pill is okay (63% of all abortions use this pill) yet claim they’re still anti-abortion (talk about gas lighting) / having some sheikh woman pray to a demon god and calling that the “one true god”. If that false god is so good then why do they want to flee the hellhole where that god reigns. Only Christianity brings prosperity and freedom. And we’re allowing these false gods at the RNC.
