Pro-Wolf Billboard in Rigby Claims Wolves Massacred in Idaho, Welcomed on Ark
By Greg Pruett • May 9, 2025The new pro-wolf billboard in Rigby is drawing criticism from Christians and being mocked by Idahoans opposed to Idaho’s large wolf population.
What’s Happening: Rigby is just an hour and a half from Yellowstone’s west entrance. Heading south out of Rigby, a billboard promoting wolf protection has been up for quite some time. However, the new billboard is more controversial than the last one.
The billboard says the wolves were welcomed on Noah’s ark, but are slaughtered in Idaho.
Digging Deeper: There are still an estimated 1,100 wolves in Idaho, more than double the goal of 500. Idaho currently has no limit on how many wolves can be killed when purchasing a tag.
Christians in online forums mocked the billboard because the ark had only two wolves, so why not reduce the wolf population to two? Hunters have been pushing for a decrease in the wolf population, saying the elk and deer populations have been devastated after their reintroduction.
Pro-wolf advocates want wolves back under federal protection in Idaho.

Since the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service reintroduced wolves in 1995, the Idaho population has grown to fluctuate around 1,270 wolves annually. Idaho’s population alone is above what the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service considered to be the carrying capacity for the entire the Northern Rocky Mountain states of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oregon, and Washington.
The wolves aren’t going to disappear by magic, it’s up to us hunters to take care of the problem ourselves.
Interesting, just what did they feed the wolves on the ark?
Small children?
Lambs? Calves?
Too much of a good thing causes problems! Currently too many wolves have moved to eating livestock because they’ve decimated their natural prey!
pics, or it didnt happen..
Genesis 1:24-25: And God said, “Let the earth bring forth every kind of animal—cattle and reptiles and wildlife of every kind.” And so it was. God made all sorts of wild animals and cattle and reptiles. And God was pleased with what he had done.
I am a Christ-follower! God was pleased with what He had done! Wolves account for less than 1% of livestock losses! Yet you wolf-haters/killers are so dishonest and prejudiced because of your choosing to be that way!
“Hunters have been pushing for a decrease in the wolf population, saying the elk and deer populations have been devastated after their reintroduction.”
Isn’t that the point? Large predators control the deer population so that hunting them isn’t necessary.
