President Trump Supports Governor Little for Re-Election

By • June 10, 2025

President Donald Trump has thrown his support behind Idaho Governor Brad Little for re-election in 2026.

What’s Happening: Little has not officially announced that he is running for a third term as Idaho’s governor, but political insiders say that the expectation is that he will run again.

Trump has praised Little several times recently and today posted the following message on his Truth Social account:

“Brad Little is the strong and highly popular Governor of Idaho, a State I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024!

As Governor, Brad is fighting tirelessly to Champion Idaho Values, Promote our Great Farmers and Ranchers, Grow the Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Help Secure our now VERY Secure (Record Setting!) Border, Support our Brave Military, Veterans, and Law Enforcement, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment.

Brad Little has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election – HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!”

Digging Deeper: Little won his last primary by a significant margin over several contenders. Idaho is also a solid-red state, which means that unless someone takes Littleout in the primary, he will win re-election in 2026.

A large part of the Republican base is not supportive of Little, but the same individuals support Trump. Will those individuals support Little, given Trump’s endorsement, or will they simply disagree with Trump on the endorsement and move on?

  1. A politician supports a politician in the same party…In other news, Bayer supports crop dusters using their products.

  2. I’m surprised Trump doesn’t support Raul Labrador, unless he has Raul pegged for a federal position or judgeship.

  3. We asked Grok ai to tell us about the popularity of Idaho Governor Brad Little among conservative Republicans. The answer was quite interesting (though the terminology “far right” isn’t what we would use and many of Grok’s sources are what we would call “mainstream” or “liberal.”):
    ____
Idaho Governor Brad Little’s popularity among conservative Republicans is mixed, based on available information. He has strong support from traditional and mainstream Republicans, evidenced by his 2022 GOP primary win against Trump-endorsed, far-right challenger Janice McGeachin, securing 60.5% in the general election. His policies—record tax cuts, deregulation, and education investments—align with conservative priorities, earning praise from groups like the Republican Governors Association and some X users who call him a “highly popular” champion of Idaho values.

However, far-right conservative Republicans criticize Little as a “RINO” (Republican in Name Only). They fault his pandemic response, including a 2020 stay-at-home order, and his veto of bills like the Medical Freedom Act. Some X posts claim he prioritizes corporate interests (e.g., IACI) over conservative principles like school choice or immigration enforcement. His exceptions to the Idaho GOP Platform pledge—opposing the repeal of the 17th Amendment and a gold/silver standard—also draw criticism from strict platform adherents.

Overall, Little enjoys broad support among moderate and traditional conservative Republicans but faces significant skepticism from the far-right wing, particularly those aligned with Trump’s MAGA movement.

  4. Actions vs words…he’s shown clearly that he is a RINO through and through in my opinion/observation. I will never vote to put him back in office…enough is enough.
