By • May 6, 2022

The NRA has endorsed Brad Little for Governor, Scott Bedke for Lt. Governor, Lawrence Wasden for Attorney General, and Mike Simpson for Congress.

Endorsements from the NRA come through the NRA-Political Victory Fund. The organization also rates each candidate in the race.

For Governor, the NRA had the following ratings:

Brad Little: A+
Janice McGeachin: A
Ed Humphreys: AQ
Cody Usabel: AQ
Ashley Jackson: AQ
Ben Cannady: AQ
Steve Bradshaw: ?
Lisa Marie: ?

For the Lt. Governor’s race, here are the NRA’s ratings:

Scott Bedke: A+
Priscilla Giddings: A
Daniel Gasiorowski: ?

In the Attorney General’s race, the NRA has the following ratings:

Lawrence Wasden: A
Raul Labrador: A
Art Macomber: AQ

Finally, for the 2nd Congressional District race, the NRA posted these ratings for each of the candidates:

Mike Simpson: A
Bryan Smith: AQ
Flint Christensen: AQ
Daniel Levy: ?
Chris Porter: ?

For those unfamiliar with the NRA’s rating system, here is how they define each of the ratings:

The PVF defines its grading system as follows:
A+: A legislator with not only an excellent voting record on all critical NRA issues, but who has also made a vigorous effort to promote and defend the Second Amendment.

A: Solidly pro-gun candidate. A candidate who has supported NRA positions on key votes in elective office or a candidate with a demonstrated record of support on Second Amendment issues.

AQ: A pro-gun candidate whose rating is based solely on the candidate’s responses to the NRA-PVF Candidate Questionnaire and who does not have a voting record on Second Amendment issues.

B: A generally pro-gun candidate. However, a “B” candidate may have opposed some pro-gun reform or supported some restrictive legislation in the past.

D: An anti-gun candidate who usually supports restrictive gun control legislation and opposes pro-gun reforms. Regardless of public statements, can usually be counted on to vote wrong on key issues.

Idaho’s primary election is on May 17. Early voting is underway across the state until next Friday.

    1. Or possibly PAYING??? Buying votes is nothing new, just a different way to accomplish this legally!

    2. I could not agree more. These RINOs do NOT look after the best interest of Idaho, only themselves. Janice McGeachin and Priscilla Giddings have done the heavy lifting for Idaho. I am very disappointed and do not approve of the NRA selections. The NRA is looking after big donor interests.

    1. I wish I could cancel my membership, but I already did years ago when they came out supporting leftist republicans in national elections.

    2. Glad I never joined the NRA. There is an alternative out there for conservatives: Gun Owners of America (gunowners.org)

  1. The NRA no longer is a freedom organization.
Why else would they back these for fools?
Do your research, these 4 are not for our Rights nor are they aligned with the Constitution.

GOA – Gun Owners of America actually protects us.

  2. The NRA has been hijacked by the establishment. It is blatantly obvious with them endorsing these RINOs. Idaho as the post above states, disregard anything the NRA says. Support the GOA and don’t finance the enemies of freedom.

  3. I’m sure these RINOS are paying the NRA for the endorsement. I stopped my NRA membership 10 years ago due to their shenanigans.

  4. As a life long NRAer, the NRA is off base on this election. They have endorsed the top four members of The Good Ol Boy’s Club. Come-On people get rid of em! And the very idea that Head Rino Simpson has been in Congress 42 years. Get real, get rid of him!

  5. This is PRECISELY why I resigned from the NRA and became a supporting member of Gun Owners of America.
THE NRA!!! NOTHING BUT PHUQUING RINO’S!!!

  6. Support for these four Republicrats is exactly why I quit the NRA many years ago. Money for self-interest is their primary focus – not for the interests of common folks.

  7. If there was any doubt the NRA has gone off the rails, these endorsements should eliminate whatever shred of hope they haven’t. Establishment RINOs across the board, way to go NRA. Freaking sellouts!

  8. Almost forgot, Simpson voted for red flag laws FOR red flag laws aimed at our military personnel. I think it was part of a recent defense appropriations bill. The NRA is dead to me.

  9. Almost forgot, Simpson voted for red flag laws FOR red flag laws aimed at our military personnel. I think it was part of a recent defense appropriations bill. The NRA is dead to me.

  10. We haven’t paid any attention to the “establishment” NRA in over a decade. Their recommendation means squat! Little, Bedke and Wasden? You gotta be kidding! The NRA has relegated itself to the ash-heap of bought-and-paid-for organizations. VOTE OUT LITTLE, BEDKE & WASDEN!

  11. Regret the life membership money and I also quit them 10 years ago. GOA and ID2A are worth supporting.

  12. I hate to admit it but I’m a life member of the NRA but I no longer financially support them in any way, shape or form. I now give my financial support to ISAA, the GOA and others as I can afford it. The NRA constantly help elect RINOs (leftists) into office. In district 9 they helped elect and re-elect Lee and Kerby, RINOs. The NRA has failed it’s members and the values they were founded by.

  13. I’ve been a nra member for many years and look at them these guys have to go. Bad people.

  14. NRA has gone to the dark side $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I won’t even THINK about rejoining until the top tier of the NRA ‘elites’ are disposed of ……..

  15. Emailed NRA and told them we see right past the money lies. There endorsements show Political Bullshit and they should have endorsed Raul Labrador and Bryan Smith. But instead they endorsed Littles pack of paid off rats. Like Wasden, who accepted $1500 from Pfizer. Us Idaho gun owners watch our rights and force our rights ! We’re not stupid and know who’s who.

  16. I am so disappointed in the NRA on its endorsement process. When I protested several of their endorsements, I received feedback that they are a “one-issue” organization that only looks at 2A issues. (Yet some on their list have supported red flag laws…..) As I have thought about this response, I can’t help but wonder if NRA even remembers that 2A was written in part to help “defend against tyranny, foreign or domestic.” Several key rights are spelled out in 1A, and then 2A is the very next amendment, in place to protect 1A (as well as subsequently-defined rights). When a politician subverts 1A (and as such practices domestic tyranny), HOW can you rationalize that person, even if they glad-hand 2A on some votes? Politicians like Little (with his perpetuating his power grab over “emergencies” among other things), Bedke (with his vindictiveness toward legislators who don’t sign on to his tyrannical pet bills), Wasden (who claims to work for the governor, not the people, and who refuses to sign onto so many amicus briefs that are written to defend our freedoms), etc. are actually subverting 2A through their tyranny, even as they gladhand it to get votes.

  17. NRA is in business to keep gunowners scared and donating. NRA is a RINO factory because the money is good. Gun Owners of America is much better. NRA is dead to me; my lifetime membership is a legacy decision and no NRA stickers in my life. As a company, NRA was working and funding the enemy as a New York Corporation, an eventual bankruptcy is corruption of leadership that needs gun control to keep donations flowing.

  18. As a RECENTLY FORMER Member of the NRA I find their actions totally unacceptable. It was the final straw for me. I’m done with them. No matter the reason for their endorsements, be it cash, political power, or prestige, it’s wrong. So after 40 years f supporting their existence – I’m done with them.

  19. I was amazed when I saw that the NRA was supporting so many RINO’s in Idaho. I’m done with them.

  20. I lost confidence in the NRA after they ran away from the 2ndA during the Obama Admin and his almost weekly anti-gun theater show we were treated to for his last 4 your years. The NRA let Remington get eaten by the sharks. They are actually weak “defenders” of the 2ndA.

They will not join suits with Gun Owners of America that actually defend our rights. They collect millions and just sit around and pretend. They play the boogie man for the Left Press and political establishment to kick around. It’s a ploy to drain our $$ support and let GOA and FPC et al perish under Leftist Lawfare. They are the RINO NGO that stalls and waits while the Enemy takes ground. Even though we have had victories, those are due to GOA et al, not the NRA.
