KTVB Allegedly Received Letter from Rosholt Law Regarding Caldwell Police Chief Coverage
By Greg Pruett • May 15, 2025KTVB has also allegedly been sent a letter from Rosholt Law regarding its coverage of Caldwell Police Chieft Rex Ingram according to several sources within KTVB.
Rosholt Law is the same law firm that sent a letter to Jim Hollis, the recall organizer, on behalf of four Caldwell City Councilmembers over his online comments. It is the same lawfirm that also had a private investigator to go to the home of a woman over comments she allegedly made online, although it is not known on behalf of whom it was for.
A source within KTVB revealed that a letter was sent to the company, but the exact date when it was sent has not been revealed to Idaho Dispatch. The only information we have is that the letter allegedly deals with KTVB’s coverage of Ingram and that it came from Rosholt Law.
Whether the letter was a cease-and-desist or of some other nature is not currently known to Idaho Dispatch. It is also possible that the letter had nothing to do with Ingram at all.
Idaho Dispatch asked for an official comment from KTVB about the letter and we were told that we would need to contact the legal department at Tegna Inc. Tegna is the primary owner of KTVB. We sent a request for comment to Tegna’s legal department but we have not received a reply at this time.
Idaho Dispatch also sent an email to Rosholt about the KTVB letter. Here was our request in its entirety:
“Ms. Rosholt,
I wanted to add one more question. Regarding the KTVB letter you sent them regarding their coverage of Chief Ingram, did he feel that the coverage was bordering on defamation or just unfair?
Thanks again for your time.
-Greg”
Several minutes after Idaho Dispatch sent that email, we received the following reply:
“Thanks! I was actually planning on addressing that as well. Thank you for your email.”
That email was sent to Idaho Dispatch on May 13. No reply has been provided to us at this time.
Here are links to every article we could find from this year that KTVB has done (or reshared the work of another news outlet) on Ingram or other lawsuits against the city, mayor, or other Caldwell Police leadership.
February 6 (Regarding Officer Allison Butler lawsuit)
February 7 (Regarding Ingram’s response to Butler lawsuit)
February 14 (Regarding Shellie Boggie lawsuit)
March 2 (Regarding multiple lawsuits)
March 24 (Regarding Shellie Boggie lawsuit settlement)
April 10 (Regarding Officer Allison Butler employment)
April 24 (Regarding Officer Allison Butler amended lawsuit)
There may be articles Idaho Dispatch missed in this list. The goal was to provide a list of articles/videos from KTVB’s website so that citizens can review what was said in the content.
