Idaho Reacts as Iran Vows Retaliation Against U.S. Over Israeli Strikes
By Greg Pruett • June 13, 2025Idaho officials are reacting to the Israeli airstrikes in Iran as Iranian officials promise to retaliate against the United States and Israel.
What’s Happening: Israel has launched preemptive strikes in Iran. Israeli officials say they targeted Iranian nuclear sites and military leaders.
Idaho officials are reacting to the news.
U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R) posted the following message on X:
“We stand with Israel tonight and pray for the safety of its people and the success of this unilateral, defensive action. I am also praying for the brave U.S. service members in the Middle East who keep America safe—Iran would be foolish to attack the United States.”
Congressman Mike Simpson (R) posted a message of support for Israel, saying,
“The United States stands with Israel and supports its right to defend itself. We are praying for our great ally, as well as for all American troops and personnel in the region.”
Congressman Russ Fulcher (R) had this message for Idaho citizens after the attack:
“The nation of Israel has a fundamental right to defend itself. This right exists not only to protect its borders and government, but most importantly to safeguard its people’s God given right to a life free from the constant and real threat of annihilation.”
There has been no public comment yet by U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R) or Governor Brad Little (R) at the time of this writing. If they provide one, this article will be updated with their comments.
Update on June 14: U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R) released the following statement about Israel striking inside Iran:
“Israel has a right to defend itself against Iran’s increasing hostilities and proxy terror groups. The whole world, not just Israel, will be safer with Iran’s weakened nuclear arsenal.”
Digging Deeper: President Donald Trump blasted Iran for not negotiating with him. He said about the attacks,
“I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to ‘just do it,’ but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done. I told them it would be much worse than anything they know, anticipated, or were told, that the United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR, and that Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come – and they know how to use it.
Certain Iranian hardliner’s spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse! There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end.
Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction, JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. God Bless You all!!”

“Breaking news” may be the most overused term in media. It’s not something that requires I immediately evacuate my home. And not enough time has passed to verify fact from propaganda. So why rush to spread word about it?
My position is we (the USA) stay out of it. If Iran attacks any Americans or American interests then we are obligated to respond with military might.
Israel picked a fight, let them deal with the consequences. Unfortunately our leadership decided to help by sending more of our already depleted munitions resources and that may lead to justified retaliation. I support the legislation that confirms that Congress decides war, not a President. Again, we need to return to following our Constitution in its entirety, something not done for over 100 years.
