History: Ashton Jeanty Selected as 6th Pick by Las Vegas Raiders

By • April 25, 2025

Ashton Jeanty made history as the highest-ever chosen athlete from an Idaho college or university after the Las Vegas Raiders selected him with the sixth pick.

What’s Happening: The NFL draft is underway, and all eyes were on Boise State University’s star running back, who was expected to be selected in the top ten of the draft.

Jeanty is often praised for his work ethic and for foregoing a lot of money as a college athlete to remain at BSU. While many athletes choose to leave their respective schools for big paydays, Jeanty wanted to stay at BSU to build his legacy there and enjoy the program’s more God-like focus.

Digging Deeper: Jeanty may have let a cool million dollars go as a college athlete; however, he will now be the second-highest-paid running back in the NFL, and he hasn’t even played a down yet.

Jeanty’s contract with the Raiders is nearly $32 million with an additional signing bonus of nearly $20 million.

  1. Meh, just another hyped up transplanted shiny object passing thru idafornia for the propagandists to chirp about. The little dancing feller is about as much an Idahoan as a long haul trucker transiting I-84. At least, unlike so many of the !#@%$ transplants, this one will be moving on soon. Hurry and move on to the next distraction no one really cares about.
How about all those other outlanders who moved here to kill each other and the overtaxed real Idahoans who have to pay to try and house them for life instead.

    1. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
