Boise Set to Make LGBT Flag an Official Flag to Comply with State Law

By • May 4, 2025

The city of Boise will vote on making the LGBT flag and the Donate Life flag official city flags, which will bring them into compliance with a state law passed earlier this year.

What’s Happening: Boise Mayor Lauren McLean has been defying a new state law for a month now. She refused to take down the LGBT flag, which is prohibited under HB 96. McLean has also been flying a flag that supports organ donations.

After defying the new law for weeks now, the city is set to soon vote on making the flags official, as HB 96 says that “official city flags” are flags that can be flown on government property.

Digging Deeper: McLean and the Boise city council appear to have found a way to keep any action taken against them because the flags becoming official will bring it into compliance with state law.

The question is, if lawmakers are going to add a penalty for violating the law, and McLean and company are making the flags official city flags, will the legislature make additional adjustments to the law or leave it as is?

A vote on the resolution will take place this Tuesday.

    1. IMO, this horny carpet munchen clit licking mayor should stick to actual city work & professional management instead of promoting her deviance & insatiable appetite for the puddy tat. Nothing screams attention whore like someone that doesn’t know how to govern and has to divert her attention elsewhere. Pathetic!

  1. NO! Making a “sexual preference perversion” flag a state flag is ridiculous and sinister. PERIOD!

  2. Thank you Boise for your inclusivity and dedication to the great people of Idaho. There is nothing disgusting about this flag – it is a simple show of support that all are welcome here, and anyone saying this is “sexual perversion” are the exact cause we need more representation in this beautiful state. Thank you Mayor!

  3. its ok, chair moon says idaho is a proud bastion of conservatism. go a have a free beer at the MAGA saloon, prol.

  4. No! A flag not endorsed by the community as a whole , particularly a sexual connotation flag, has NO place in our city, on a government building, etc.
Why should a liberal mayor be allowed to push her agenda on us? Does she not have more important city matters to attend to than focusing on this issue and how she can get around the legality of it? Good grief!

  5. We are a Christian nation and the LGBT flag has no place on our state offices. she should not be allowed to fly this flag, she is breaking the law!!

  6. Rather than complain about the FLAG, how about a petition starts to end her ability to be the mayor based on her inability to manage the city. This has nothing to do with city management. RECALL
