Next month will mark one of the most contentious months in America, known as Pride Month; however, at least one event in Idaho has been cancelled due to low interest.
What’s Happening: A Facebook page called Boise Pride posted on May 29 that they were cancelling their event due to not enough people buying tickets. The event was supposed to take place at the Knitting Factory with prices ranging from $32 to $72, according to their website.
“We created the Pride Season Kickoff to bring more Pride to June, based on community demand. But despite strong interest, attendance didn’t reach the level needed to hold the event responsibly. As a result, the June 6 event is canceled and all tickets have been refunded.”
Digging Deeper: Idaho Liberty Dogs celebrated the event being cancelled, saying on Facebook,
“Shout out to those of you who stood with us last year to protest Nampa Pride “all ages event” and exposed the public nudity that occurred around the presence of children.

This is a win! Thank you and congratulations!!!”
While other Pride events will continue during June, the Old State Saloon is countering the Pride messaging by hosting Hetero Awesome Fest on June 20 and 21 at Cecil Andrus Park.
