AG Labrador and Ada County Sheriff Face Rebuff from Boise Mayor Over Flag
By Editor • April 16, 2025Boise Mayor Lauren McLean has rebuffed letters from Idaho Attorney General Raul Labrador and Ada County Sheriff Matt Clifford.
What’s Happening: Labrador weighed in on the flag debate yesterday, making him the highest-ranking official to take a stand on the issue. Idaho Dispatch has contacted Governor Brad Little’s office, but they have not yet responded to our request for comment on the flag debate.
McLean seems intent on keeping the LGBT flag flying despite a new law signed by Little earlier this month. Her office told Channel 2 News that the flag would remain despite Labrador’s letter and a letter from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
Here is the statement given to Channel 2:
“We are in receipt of letters from both the Attorney General and the Ada County Sheriff. While we are sorting out the reach and impact of HB 96, which includes neither definitions nor enforcement mechanisms, we will continue to fly the flags currently on display at City Hall.”
Digging Deeper: Labrador’s letter (seen below) suggests that the legislature must return next year and fix the legislation, as the bill did not outline any penalties for non-compliance. It remains to be seen if Labrador or Ada County Sheriff Matt Clifford will try to take any additional action with McLean refusing to comply.

Sodomites put out the call to flock there because they could not stand a city where family values and Christian principles reigned. Since then, Boise has gone down hill from the infection of sodomites and their ungodly lifestyles. The flag needs to be torn down and thrown in the garbage. It neither represents true Idaho values, nor is it lawful.
